The Chairman of Amreli Steels and Vice Chairman of Pakistan Association of Large Steel Producers (PALSP), Abbas Akberali expressed deep sadness on the passing away of Deputy Collector Customs Quetta, Abdul Quddus Sheikh. Sheikh was critically injured by a band of hard core smugglers after an anti-smuggling operation in Gahi Khan Chowk in Quetta. He was flown to a Karachi hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Conveying his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the Customs Department, Abbas Akberali said that "Dr Quddus Sheikh will be remembered as a brave government official who died in service of the nation'. In his statement, Abbas Akberali announced that Pakistan Association OF Large Steel Producers (PALSP) will give Rs 500,000 as assistance to Sheikh's family and will also provide financial support towards the deceased's children's education.-PR
