Provincial Information Minister Syed Sumsam Ali Bukhari has said that Shahbaz Sharif squandered away millions of rupees on his personal publicity. While distributing financial aid cheques among the deserving journalists at a ceremony held at Lahore Press Club on Thursday, Bukhari said the PML-N wasted national exchequer on undue projection and publicity. "We are clearing outstanding dues of the media houses and over 60-percent of outstanding money has been paid," he said, adding: "The Punjab government will soon clear the remaining left over amount. After paying the whole remaining amount, financial protection of media officials must be ensured, he added.
The minister said that problems of journalists are being resolved on priority basis. As many as 34 journalists belonging to Lahore, Multan and Gujranwala are being extended financial aid cheques.
DGPR Punjab Dr Muhammad Aslam Dogar and President Lahore Press Club also participated in the ceremony. Syed Sumsam Ali Bukhari also clarified that prices of flour and wheat have not been increased. "Sale of Roti and Naan at DC rates are being ensured and strict action will be taken against those elements involved in creating artificial price-hike," he said.
Expressing his heartfelt condolence over the train accident in Rahim Yar Khan District, the minister prayed that Allah Almighty may rest the departed souls in eternal peace. He also prayed for early recovery of the injured.
