'Assets beyond means' case: Sindh minister's bail extended till Sept 17

Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday granted extension in the bail of Taimur Talpur, provincial minister of Sindh till September 17, 2019 in "assets beyond means" case. A division bench of the SHC also granted two-month time to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to conclude the inquiry against the provincial minister after investigation officer sought more time in this regard. Taimur Talpur appeared in the hearing of the case.
Investigation officer told the court that inquiry against the provincial minister is in the final stage and the bureau needed more time to conclude it.
NAB is investigating against provincial minister for allegedly having assets beyond means, against which the provincial minister secured the bail before arrest.
The court put off the hearing of the case till September 17 and granted the extension in the bail of provincial minister.
Meanwhile, a division bench of Supreme Court headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmed dismissed the petitions of two employees of Works & Services Department Sindh against their non-promotion.
Akthar Dawch and Wadhu Mall pleaded before the court that their seniority was affected after the surplus employees of Sindh Arid Zone Authority were inducted in the department. Six employees of authority were promoted but they (petitioners) were not given promotion, the employees submitted.
The government attorney told the court that employees were junior in the promotion list and told that 135 employees were inducted in the department after its dissolution. The court dismissed the petition of employees after hearing the arguments of both parties.
