Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday said that the foundation of a transparent Pakistan has been laid by the PTI. "Pakistan is achieving the goal of transparency and it's being transformed under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan," the CM said, adding: "The rich and the powerful personalities are being brought to trial for the first time in Pakistan. The culture of loot and plunder can no more work in the new Pakistan."
In a statement, the CM maintained that massive corruption was made in the previous tenures and the corrupt cabal mercilessly looted the national resources which were meant for the welfare of the people. The bank balances of the former rulers continued to be doubled day and night but the people suffered due to the quagmire of problems, he added.
Sardar Usman said that the whole nation earnestly desires the accountability of those who crossed every limit of corruption during their tenures. "No one should remain in any misunderstanding because it is the new Pakistan where all are equal before the law and it is the clear and manifest sign of change that the past rulers are brought under the net of law for their corruption," he said.
Whosoever done anything wrong or committed corruption will have to face the consequences, he added. Those who have had looted the national resources mercilessly are the criminals of the nation and their faces have been fully exposed before the people, he said.
The CM said that loot and plunder reigned in the name of mega-development projects during the last 10 years. The national resources were looted in the tenure of past rulers and corruption was made in every institution, he added.
He said that corruption and loans have devastated the economy and as a result, Pakistan reached to the brink of devastation. He said that the former rulers committed cruelty with the country. Basic necessities of people were ignored and exhibitory projects were started which compounded public problems, he added. The PTI government has waged a crusade against the corruption because the government is the custodian of the national exchequer and no one will be allowed to do any embezzlement, he said.
