Torrential rain paralyzed activities in Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as several link roads were disconnected. The flood water also entered into the ward of Ayub Medical Complex (AMC) Abbottabad. Owing to heavy downpour in upper Hazara, roads in all important areas including Abbottabad, Galiyat, Kaghan, Naran and Thandyani were blocked due to land sliding and flood water entered into the houses and destroyed household.
In Havelian, Abbottabad, Qalandarabad and Mansehra Karakoram Highway (KKH) were blocked at several places by the flash flood and thousands of the vehicles were trapped in water. Several link roads in all over Hazara division were disconnected by the flash flood and land sliding. The KKH and other roads were also blocked in Abbottabad, Mansehra and Battagram traffic was jammed for hours.
Power transmission lines and telecommunication system were also badly damaged due to heavy rain in most parts of the division. In Abbottabad city, the flood water entered houses and streets due to choked sewerage system and swept the furniture and household items away in several parts of the city.
Muree Road, Kakul Road, Mandian, Supply Bazaar and Link Road Abbottabad and other residential localities turned into virtual cesspools. Numerous thoroughfares and connecting roads in Galyat, Thandiani, Mansehra, Battagram and Kaghan valley have been destroyed by the heavy rain, land sliding, and flash-flood.
In Mansehra, district structures collapsed and other incidents triggered by windstorm coupled with heavy rain. The windstorm also lifted off the house roofs in different parts of Mansehra district, fortunately, no causality was reported. Meanwhile, Met Office has forecasted more rains and thunderstorms a during the next 24 hours in Hazara division particularly in upper parts of Hazara region that may trigger more flood and land sliding.
