Sindh department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities is taking steps to issue driving license to the hearing-impaired people in order to make them more independent. This was stated by Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, special assistant to the CM Sindh on the said department, presiding over a meeting.
He said special persons should be facilitated at all level and must be made a useful part of society. He said that a kind and positive attitude should be adopted for special persons and we should encourage them to become more independent.
"I am sure that if hearing-impaired persons are given driving license, they will be good drivers and will definitely follow the traffic rules," Qasim Naveed said. The meeting recommended that motor vehicles rules need to be amended to issue driving license to hearing- impaired persons and for the purpose Sindh Transport Department would also be approached.
