That the United Nations Secretary General has broken his silence over India's Kashmir decision is a fact. What is also heartening to note is that the government of Pakistan has stepped up its diplomatic pressure on India. I fully endorse Business Recorder's argument that "As a precautionary measure, the NSC has directed the armed forces to remain vigilant. To be sure, the Modi government's decision to annex J&K will cause more instability in an already unstable region, and may lead to consequences no one would like to see. It is in the interest of all influential international players, therefore, to intervene before things spiral out of control."
The PTI government is not in favour of war with India. This is highly prudent approach to the situation in the greater interest of regional peace.
