Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Saturday inaugurated Sports Facility Centre (SFC) established by the Pakistan Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PSGMEA) here on its premises.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Firdous said equipped with the latest technology, the Sports Facilitation Centre would be helpful in modernizing the sports goods industry of the country, particularly Sialkot. PSGMEA Chairman Muhammad Arshad and leading businessmen attended the ceremony.
She further stated that PTI led government was making adequate efforts for the promotion of industrial sector on modern production lines of the country in accordance of the Prime Minister's vision.
Chairman Sports Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PSGMEA) Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad apprized the Special Assistant that government had provided funds amounting to Rs 5.82 crore out of Export Development Fund (EDF) for the installation of this modern embroidery and printing machine on the pressing demands of the business community engaged with Sports Goods Industry.
Highlighting the salient features of embroidery and printing machine he said that this is electronic multi-head automatic embroidery machine with sublimation printing laser cutting system facilities.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, while addressing the members of PSGMEA, disclosed that necessary arrangements were being finalized for setting up industrial city in Sialkot.
The step was being taken keeping in view the importance of Sialkot hub of cottage industry and export-oriented city of Pakistan she said.
She further said that establishment of Industrial City in the area would further accelerate the pace of export activities. About the decline in export activities she said the past rulers were responsible for it. She said the PTI led government was making adequate efforts for removing the hurdles which were hindering exports of the country.
