The city police have devised comprehensive security plan for Eid-ul-Azha and special deployment would be made to guard worship places on the occasion. According to the security plan, over 2,000 police personnel would be deployed in various parts of the city on Eid day, while 1,400 policemen would perform duties at Chand Raat and over 1,200 would be deployed at recreational places including parks to maintain law and order during Eid-ul-Azha.
The city police finalized the plan during a meeting presided over by Deputy Inspector General (Operation) Waqar Ud Din Syed. The DIG directed police to ensure effective combing at all exit and entry points of the capital. He warned that police action would be taken against all those police personnel who are found involved in showing negligence while performing their duties.
He also ordered to install CCTV camera at important places. According to police, special security plan has been formulated for Faisal Mosque and walkthrough gates and scanners would be installed at the entry points of the masque. Police would also be deployed at graveyards, a senior official of police said.
He said that different police teams have been constituted for patrolling in various urban sectors and rural areas. Keeping in view the rush of visitors at public places, special security measures have also been taken at Shakarparian, Daman-e-Koh, Jasmine Garden, Monal, Lake View Park, Chattar Park and Centuras Mall, he said.
