Mixed trend in prices of essential food commodities was witnessed in local market, according to a survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday. According to the survey, the prices of vegetable, pulses, chicken meat, flour, sugar and others are sky-high in the retail market. Price of tomatoes has decreased at Rs40 per kg from Rs60 per kg, but price of onion remained unchanged as available at Rs60-70 per kg in local market.
The downward trend in prices of ginger and garlic was also witnessed as available at Rs300 per kg against the price of Rs400 per kg and Rs200 per kg against the price of Rs250 per kg respectively. Cucumber is being sold at Rs40 per kg against the price of Rs50 per kg. Green chili is available at Rs80 per kg while lemon is being sold at Rs 120 per kg in local market.
Price of other veggies have touched new heights in the local market as peas is being sold at Rs 150 per kg, arvi at Rs80 per kg, capsicum at Rs80 per kg. Cabagge is being sold at Rs60 per kg, cauliflower at Rs50 per kg, bringle at Rs50 per kg. Bitter gourd is being available at Rs80 per kg,
Price of live chicken/meat has increased at Rs 186 per kg which was selling at Rs 175-180 per kg a few days back. Similarly, cow meat was being sold at Rs420-450 per kg against the official fixed price of Rs280 per kg. A dozen of farm eggs are being sold at Rs 110-120 which was selling at Rs80-100 per dozen in the previous week. Fresh milk is being sold at Rs 130 per litre against the official fixed price of Rs90 per litre Yogurt was available at Rs 120 per kg against the official fixed rate of Rs80 per kg in local market.
According to the survey, the price of sugar has increased at Rs80-82 per kg which was selling at Rs75-76 per kg in the previous week. Similarly, good quality gram flour (baisen) was available at Rs 100-120 per kg, while other being sold at Rs80-90 per kg in local market.
The survey witnessed the prices of pulses/food grains were remained unchanged in the retail market as no significant increase or decrease was witnessed. It was noted that good quality rice (sela) is being sold at Rs 140 -150 per kg, while toota rice was available at Rs75-80 per kg. Dal mash is being sold at Rs 170 and Rs 190 per kg, dal channa was available at Rs 130-140 per kg, white lobiya at Rs 130 and Rs 140 per kg, red-bean at Rs 130-140 per kg.
The price big-size white channa was Rs 140 and Rs 160 per kg, while dal chilka (green) was being sold at Rs 140 and Dal Chilka (Black) being sold at Rs 130 per kg. Moonge was available at Rs 140 per kg. Dhoti dal is being sold at Rs 160. According the survey, the price of cooking oil/ghee were remained high-side in the retail market as available within range of Rs 170 and Rs 180 per litre/kg, and Rs 190 and Rs200 per litre/kg.
As per survey, apples are being sold at Rs 140-150 per kg, peach at Rs 120 per kg, mangoes within range of Rs80 and Rs 100 per kg, apricot at Rs 150-160 per kg, banana at Rs70-80 per dozen, black-coloured plums at Rs 100-120 per kg, grapes are being sold at Rs200 per kg, mukesh melon was being sold at Rs 150-200 per piece with different size and guava was available at Rs80-100 per kg.
