Acting President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Faraz-ur-Rehman has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has given the vision for export promotion and to control unnecessary imports, gradually his policies are bringing encouraging results. He termed the decline in trade deficit as a positive sign for country's economic stability.
Faraz-ur-Rehman said that according to year on year data, trade deficit has fallen 72 percent in July this year which is a great success of the government. He said that trade balance is improving and there is a hope for more expansions in export sector, however, a comprehensive strategy should be devised to maintain the pace of exports.
Faraz-ur-Rehman said that industries have been facing issues regarding ease of doing business and cost of production. Some steps have been taken to resolve these problems, but lot is needed to be done. He expressed hope that current numbers of trade balance would impact positively on the country's economy, and would boost the confidence of industrialists and export sector.
