President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi has told the business community that the government is well aware of their problems and is making efforts to solve them on a priority basis. Talking to a delegation of Pakistan Chemical & Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) led by Chairman Shahid Vaseem, the President said the government would bonour its commitment of improving ease of doing business so that commercial and industrial activities could get a much-needed boost.
He said if businesses and industries flourish, country will also flourish Replying a question of Chairman Shahid Vaseem on the issue of difference between taxes of commercial and industrial importers of raw material, he said that the government has already minimized the difference in FY2019-20 Budget and will eliminate it in due course.
Shahid Vaseem said that commercial importers import raw materials for industries to supply such goods on a regular basis. He requested the President to arrange a meeting of registered associations with FBR officials on a quarterly basis and frame a comprehensive policy for five years. The delegation also comprised Vice Chairman M. Saleem Nini, Choudhry Naseer, Abdul Hafeez Muhammad, Waqas Rahim Chughtai, Nasir Chughtai, Ejaz Saleem and Salman Pervez.
