Dawood University team visits village

A delegation of Dawood University comprising of city planners, architects, environmental and chemical engineers led by the Vice Chancellor Dr Faizullah Abbasi visited village Moula Bux Mallah and adjoining 4 RO plants providing potable water to the people of the village. The delegation was accompanied by PHED and RDD officials. They met with local people to understand the living conditions and collected information from a view to developing a model village.
They also inspected the RO plants, two of which were in working conditions and two were under repair by PHED. The University faculty accompanied by Alumni explored the possibility of basic remote monitoring of these plants for real time performance and sustainable operations of these plants. They also explored the possibility of community participation and capacity building for sustaining the model village.
The architects explored the potential of developing a Floating Tourist Site supported on pontoons in the Manchar Lake at RD 62. It will comprise of floating restaurants, sunset and sunrise viewing decks, bird watching towers, public toilets, vegetation and landscaped areas around the site, eatery kiosks and souvenir shops to empower the local community and generate livelihood.
