Sindh Excise and Taxation (E&T) department on Saturday claimed to have made a revenue collection of Rs12.172 billion during July-August period. E&T Director General Shabbir Ahmed Sheikh revealed that the department had collected Rs 1.216 billion under motor vehicle tax, Rs 9.064 billion as infrastructure cess and Rs 126.778 million as professional tax.
Similarly, around Rs 9.514 million was collected in terms of cotton fees, Rs 800.683 million of property tax and Rs 27 million as entertainment duty. Meanwhile, Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control and Parliamentary Affairs, Mukesh Kumar Chawla expressed his satisfaction over revenue collection, announcing that another road checking campaign would be commenced shortly.
