SHCC reviews infection prevention, control programme

First meeting of new board of commissioners of Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) held at Karachi under the leadership of New Chairperson Ms Nargis Ghaloo. All new commissioners attended the meeting where CEO SHCC Dr Minhaj Qidwai gave overview of SHCC functions. Also relevant Committees were formed under the Commission.
The meeting of Stakeholders was held in Larkana on Bio-Medical Waste Management in DC Office Larkana organized by SHCC. The meeting was attended by Mayor Larkana, Deputy Commissioner Larkana, Owners and Medical Superintendent of Private Medical Centers and District Support Manager PPHI Larkana Division. The SHCC team Dr Ayaz Mustafa, Dr Amir and Dr Rajesh were also present.
The Directorate of Clinical Governance & Training organized Task Force for Infection Prevention & Control meeting at Karachi. Dr Rafique Khanani, Professor Riffat , Dr Raza Kazmi and Dr Faiza Bhutto attended the meeting.
It was discussed in the meeting to develop short courses on Infection Prevention & Control Programme for nurses, mid-wives and Lady Health Workers.
The Directorate also held meeting on Laboratory pricing and control. It was discussed in the meeting to start Anti-biotic stewardship programme from platform of SHCC to control anti-biotic consumption. A training session was also held in Sukkur on Primary Healthcare Standards which was attended by hospital
staff including doctors and nurses. Directorate of Anti-Quackery has sealed 81 clinics in this week. Till date total 2,241 Healthcare Establishments (HCEs') were sealed across the Sindh so far.
Similarly, Directorate of Complaint has received till date total 99 complaints out of which 66 complaints are disposed off, 27 complaints are under process while 6 are sub-judice.
Directorate of Licensing & Accreditation has received 85 new applications for registration this week. Till date total number of applications for registration received is 9191. The certificates were issued to 130 HCEs' this week bringing total number of registration certificates issued to 8053 HCEs'. The team conducted inspection of Rafah-e-Aam Medical Center and Al-Baseer Foundation, Karachi.
