The city is likely to undergo heat wave spell until September 27, as the Met Office Wednesday forecast up to 38 degrees Celsius temperature. It said that there are also chances of scattered rain and thunderstorm Thursday in the metropolis. Weather in the city is likely to remain partly cloudy and humid with 85 percent humidity.
"Weak seasonal low lies over North Balochistan. Moderate monsoon currents are penetrating in northeastern and south eastern parts of the country & likely to intensify from Thursday," the met said.
In the next 24 hours: Scattered rain with wind-thunderstorm is expected in Muzaffarabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Umerkot, Karachi, while isolated falls in Dir, Swat, Nowshera, Swabi, Charsadda, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Thatta, Badin and Dadu Districts and Islamabad. Hot and dry weather is expected in plain areas of the country.
In the past 24 hours: Weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However rain-wind-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad and Karachi Districts, besides Kashmir.
