Doctors vow to continue strike till RHA, DHA revoked

The protesting doctors and paramedics on Sunday reiterated to continue their strike until revoking of Regional Authority Act (RHA) and District Health Authority (DHA) Acts, 2019 recently passed by the provincial assembly and asked registration of an FIR against hospital director and health minister Hisham Inamullah.
In a statement issued here, they said that government did what they had to do and their demands are the same as these were before. They demanded immediate resignation of hospital director and resignation of health minister along with suspension of SSP Operation Zahoor Babar Afridi. They also demanded immediate release of doctors and cancellation of FIRs registered against them.
Pakistan Medical Association provincial president Dr Hussain Ahmad Haroon strongly condemned the brutal torture and arrest of doctors, paramedics and nurses demanded registration of an FIR against the minister health and chairman Board of Governors Dr Nowsherwan Barki.
In a meeting, president Pakistan Medical Association Dr Haroon said that use of force against peaceful protesters does not suit PTI government and instead of violence they should hold talks with protesting doctors on the RHA and DHA bills.
He said that earlier to this some body guards of health minister also tortured Dr Zia. He demanded immediate release of the arrested doctors and reversing Act of RHA and DHA. He warned to permanently boycott if their demands were not met.
Pakistan Peoples Party women wing leader Mehar Sultana also condemned the brutal use of baton-charge against the doctors and expressed her sympathies with those who were injured during clashes with the police.
