Careem has announced global investment of over $150 million in Careem NOW, a new delivery app, to fulfill its commitment in creating a first-class delivery service.
After successful operation in Dubai, Amman, Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam and Makkah, Careem has launched its delivery app called Careem NOW in Karachi, starting with food delivery and expanding to other delivery services soon. The app will provide customers with a seamless experience and multiple cuisine options depending on their budget.
Initially, Careem NOW will cover the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and Clifton areas of Karachi and soon expand to the remainder of the city.
The food delivery market in the region Careem operates in is predicted to grow to around $25 billion by 2022. Careem already has over 33 million customers on its platform and an existing logistics infrastructure through its ride hailing platform, allowing the service to scale quickly and match potential demand.
"Careem is set to invest over $150 million in Careem NOW, reflecting our level of commitment in creating a first-class delivery service", Careem announced on Tuesday.
Launching partners in Karachi include global brands like Subway, Baskin Robbins, Esquires Coffee, local favorites like OPTP, Broadway Pizza, Burger Lab, Easy, Juicy Lucy, Chatterbox Cafe, Hobnob and upscale dining offerings like Cafe Aylanto, Fuschia, Koel Cafe, Tao and hidden gems such as 2 Guys 1 Grill and Yoshis! Additional outlets are being added every week, and to mark its launch Careem NOW is offering 50 percent off for all new customers.
Careem ride-hailing customers will be able to seamlessly log-in to the Careem NOW app with their existing Careem credentials. If they have a debit or credit card registered with Careem it will be automatically linked, as will any saved addresses from the Careem ride-hailing app. Furthermore, existing customers can also use Careem PAY (wallet) to make purchases on the Careem NOW app.
The Careem NOW app promises a seamless end to end experience with real-time tracking of orders on an interactive map and customers can reach out to their Delivery Captains directly or call our dedicated Care Centres.
