Senior lawyer and former Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan (DAGP) Mohammad Khurshid advocate has been passed away after protracted illness. Late Mohammad Khurshid advocate who was once a devoted jiyala for usually involvement in interesting matters like keeping shoes of the visitors at Darbar Sahab (Amritsar) and Jamia Masjid (New Dehli) India and Mohahat Khan Masjid of his home town, Peshawar.
A strong supporter of the lawyers' movement in favour of former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry made headlines in newspapers when through black ink on Ahmad Raza Kasuri, the lawyer of Pervez Musharraf.
He entered politics as a student of Khyber Law College, University of Peshawar and elected as president of the students union of the varsity. After education he remained an active member of PPP and its affiliated lawyers' wing Peoples' Lawyers Forum.
PPP awarded him ticket twice for contesting election against Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour of ANP in 1997 and in 2002. However, in first instance was disqualified for contest on the basis of his service as Assistant Advocate General (AAG) and in 2002 his ticket was withdrawn after PPP entered into seat adjustment with ANP.
