Hours before the opening ceremony of Pakistan Super League fourth edition kicks off today in Dubai, American rapper Pitbull, who was supposed to perform at the ceremony, bowed out of the event at the last minute.
In a video message on Twitter, Pitbull apologised to fans for not being able to perform at PSL opening ceremony due to some plane fault. “I deeply apologise to the fans and hope to see you all next year or some other time around. Between me and the Pakistan Cricket Board, we tried our hardest to get over to Dubai. I just wanna say I'm sorry, I apologise, deeply apologise for that,” he said.
“Unfortunately, what has happened was [that] it was such a long flight, they took the plane for a test flight, and when they landed, pieces of the engine had come apart,” he added. The Pakistan Cricket Board was reportedly going to pay Pitbull $700,000 for his performance at the opening ceremony.
