Slamming Pakistan Super League (PSL) for using his sister Nazia Hassan’s hit number ‘Disco Deewane’ during the opening ceremony of the event without his consent, Singer Zoheb Hassan has said he will take a legal action against the organizers.

‘Disco Deewane’ was originally sung by Nazia and Zoheb and was a hit number in 1980s. The song was performed by Aima Baig and Shuja Haider during the opening ceremony in Dubai on February 15, which has not sat well with Zoheb.

The legendary singer’s brother, in a tweet, expressed shock over the rendition by the franchise without prior permission. He has also threatened to take legal action on the act.

He said, “I was shocked to see that a reputable platform like PSL used our track Disco Dewane without our prior permission. Outright infringement of intellectual property should be condemned and I am going to take a legal stand on this one!”.

He also told a local media that copyrights need to be respected across the board and he wants to make it a example for everyone.
