Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid has always expressed his dislike towards Pakistani celebrities' willingness to work in Bollywood. However, in contrast to his statements, Pakistani veteran actor Javed Sheikh had a different story to tell about Shaan’s intention to work in Bollywood.
Sheikh was invited in a talk show few days back on a local media channel, where he took a sly dig at Shaan for his contradictory statements over his thoughts on Pakistani artists working in Bollywood. Speaking about artists traveling to the neighboring country to act in Bollywood, Sheikh said there is no harm in working across the borders as we are just making our country proud.
Narrating a story, Sheikh revealed that Shaan had once expressed his wish to work in India. “A group from our film industry visited India a few years ago including Shaan Shahid, Sajjad Gul and others. While we were going there, Shaan expressed his wish of working in India and be the part of their industry,” Sheikh said.
He further added, “I am a Pakistani and a Muslim and I am really proud about it. If I am working in other countries then I am only trying to make my country proud”.
Shaan has always condemned Pakistani artistes for working across the border at many public events. Shaan even once spoke against the celebrities at an award show on-stage, which drew falk and upset many of his fellow actors. Referring to that award show, Sheikh said he wanted to say a lot while he made such statements on-stage but he refrained himself from commenting at that moment.
Many prominent Pakistani actors including Ali Zafar, Fawad Khan, Sajal Aly, Adnan Siddiqui, Mahira Khan, Imran Abbas, Mawra Hocane, Saba Qamar and Sheikh himself have worked in Indian film industry.
