Samsung has decided to sell Galaxy S10 and S10 with a pre-installed screen protectors as ordinary protectors cannot work on these smartphones with ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Samsung confirmed that when it starts shipping the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus in coming days, it will feature a pre-installed plastic screen protector on the display that will be compatible with the phone’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor embedded in the display since some third-party protectors might not work with the display.

The pre-installed protector, however, is a very basic one and unlike any of the tough glass protectors. Also, the sensor does not come in with any sort of warranty on how long it will last. Although, Samsung told Engadget that there will be compatible third-party protectors available when the phones release. The company will also offer its screen protector separately for an extra $30.
The Verge reported, the Samsung Galaxy S10e won’t feature this protector since is uses a capacitive scanner and is able to work with many screen protectors without any issues. As of for the Galaxy S10 5G, though it features an ultrasonic sensor, but Samsung didn’t say if the phone will ship with the pre-installed screen protector.
