Pakistan Navy warded off an Indian submarine from attempting to enter Pakistani waters and foiled its bid of entering the country, the Pakistan Navy said on Tuesday.

The latest development has come exactly a week after India violated Pakistan's airspace and carried out airstrikes.  According to a statement from the Navy spokesperson, Pakistan Navy used its specialized skills to ward off the submarine and successfully prevented it from entering Pakistani waters, local media reported.

Keeping the government's policy of peace, the Pakistan Navy did not target the Indian submarine, the statement further read. The statement further stated that learning from this incident, India should too work towards peace. "[Pakistan] Navy will keep defending Pakistan's naval border. The force has the capability to respond to any aggression," the statement added.

Pakistan Navy has also shared the footage of the Indian submarine that was warded off Monday night.

This is the second occasion since 2016 that the Pakistan Navy has detected an Indian submarine trying to wade into Pakistani waters.

Amid the tensions between the two neigbouring countries, India has been violating Line of Control and Pakistan airspace since last week. Pakistan Air Force thwarted Indian Air Force's attempts to violate the Line of Control and shot down two of its jets last weeks. Armed forces of Pakistan also captured an Indian pilot, who was later released as a peace gesture.
