The Pakistani-American business man and the key character in the 'memo' scandal, Ijaz told the court on Friday that President Asif Ali Zardari was aware of the operation in Abbottabad in which Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed by US Special Forces on May 2 last year. The Presidency said that the claim by Ijaz that President Zardari telephoned Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asfhaq Pervez Kayani to not retaliate against the American helicopters with F-16s was untrue and unfounded. Ijaz also told the Judicial Commission probing the case, that President Zardari approved the attack in Abbottabad.
