The SHC Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh heard the bail plea filed by former minister and issued notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and other respondents on bail plea.
The SHC CJ asked the Memon’s counsel that on which grounds bail plea has been filed again? Khalid Javed, Memon’s counsel told the court that his client has been in prison since 2017, so the bail plea was filed on merit of case. ‘’In this long period, only 3 out of 50 witnesses have recorded their statements in the case.”
Sharjeel Memon was booked for issuing advertisement on alleged heavy bribery during his ministry of information.
The court asked the respondents to submit their reply in written and it also issued notice to the NAB officials for the 9th April.
