As part of the western route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Prime Minister Imran Khan performed on Friday the earth breaking of Balochistan Health Complex and Quetta-Zhob Dual Carriageway in Quetta.
Addressing the ceremony, the premier said that this project was essential and thanked Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa for playing a part in the project's construction. He added that this will become a medical city as the federal government with the cooperation of provincial government and Pakistan Army will also establish a cancer hospital here.
Speaking about the development of Western route of CPEC, the premier said that this will enhance connectivity and develop the deprived regions of Balochistan. The premier contended that the carriageway will connect Balochistan with not only different parts of the country, but also the entire region.
Earlier, in a tweet, the Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had announced the arrival of the premier at Quetta Cantt. The premier was received by the COAS at Army Aviation Base, the DG ISPR added.
PM Khan was accompanied by Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, Chief Minister Jam Kamal and other federal ministers.

Later today, PM Khan will perform the groundbreaking of the Gwadar International Airport. The prime minister will also visit Karachi tonight.
