The fresh increase in the petroleum products prices by the government was on Tuesday challenged in the Sindh High Court (SHC). Petitioner Maulvi Iqbal Haider approached the court praying that the increase enforced through a March 31 notification was unjust and unfair. In his petition, filed in SHC, Haider seeks the court to order take back the upward revision in prices. Further more, Petition pleads that approval for revision in petroleum prices should be taken from parliament. He requested the court to restrain government from charging new price till hearing of petition is concluded. Petitioner made ministry of petroleum and OGRA respondent in the petition.
