SHC hears bail plea of Maseehudin Durrani: directs NAB to file reference soon

A two-member bench of the SHC headed by Chief Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh and comprising Justice Omer Sial heard the bail plea filed by Agha Maseehuddin, brother of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, and Tufail Shah, expressed its annoyance at the IO, Asif Raza over his failure to present related documents to the court. Maseehuddin is accused of illegally allotting government land. “Where are the records you recovered during the raid at his house?” the bench asked the officer.

“Where is the record?” The IO said that he didn’t have the record with him. Maseeh’s lawyer said that the NAB seized CNICs of the domestic workers employed at his house of client.

The court asked who owned the land that the suspect is accused of illegally allotting.

The IO said that it was government land.

he court directed the NAB to complete its inquiry and file a reference immediately.

The bench also ordered the NAB director and those working on the case to appear at the next hearing. The court, later, adjourned the hearing till 24th April.
