PEMRA approves reduced tariff for cable and non commercial FM Radio licence

Islamabad, approved grant of Non-Commercial FM Radio Licence to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Traffic Police, Peshawar. The Authority also approved revised subscription fee / tariff for Cable TV Operators.

The Authority reviewed it’s earlier decision made in 134th Meeting dated 3rd October, 2017 and approved revision of tariff on account of subscriber fee from Rs. 24/- to Rs. 12/- per subscriber per annum on same rate which was being charged earlier.

Reduction in tariff has been made with a view to offer some relief to Cable TV operators throughout the country who are already in financial crunch due to various economic factors.

Authority also approved revised budget estimates for F.Y. 2018/19 of PEMRA as well as estimates for PEMRA Annual Budget for F.Y. 2019-20.

The Authority meeting was chaired by the Chairman PEMRA Mr. Muhammad Saleem Baig. Other Members including Mr. Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan Chairman FBR, Maj. Gen. (R) Amir Azeem Bajwa, Chairman PTA, Mr. Shafqat Jalil, Secretary Information and Broadcasting, Major (R) Azam Suleman Khan, Secretary Interior, Ms. Shaheen Habibullah, Member KP, Mr. Sarfaraz Khan Jatoi Member Sindh, and Ashfaq Jumani, Executive Member PEMRA were also present in the meeting.
