The authority has placed notices on the doors of dozens of shops saying the structures have been built on residential plots, whereon no commercial activity is allowed. A notice placed on one of the doors of a shop near Islamia College reads, " The premise of subject plot is hereby sealed by the order of competent authority under section 7-A of SBCA 1979-82 (Amendment up to date) on account of unauthorised conversion of residential plot into commercial activity/ showroom without any appropriate permission from the competent authority." It further said, If the seal is found tempered/ broken or the said premises are trespassed by any person/ persons he then shall be punished under section 19 and other actions permissible under the law. Meanwhile, over a dozen showroom owners gathered outside the market to evolve strategy against the government move. Meanwhile citizens also complained that the showroom owners are used to park a number of vehicles on the both sides of roads at various city roads, creating hardships for the commuters to make there ways.
