* The ministry said farmers had sown 194,000 hectares of sugar beet or 79 percent of the expected area of 245,000 hectares.

* Farmers also sown 1.03 million hectares of sunflower out of 5.7 million hectares forecasted for 2019 sowing, the ministry said.
