ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Wednesday issued notice to the Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) in a case regarding suspension of mobile phone services in the wake of security.
A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and comprised Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan, heard the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority appeal against the Islamabad High court verdict.
During the course of proceedings, Justice Azmat Saeed said terrorists also use mobile phones in their activities.
The court would also have to keep in mind the security matters while deciding such a case, he added.
The court issued notice to the AGP and adjourned hearing of the case till April 26.
Islamabad High Court, in its orders, had termed the government action illegal suspending the mobile phone services in the name of security.
