Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat recently attended an event at a private university, where she addressed the criticisms she has been facing ever since she has received prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz award.
While speaking at a event on women empowerment at Bahria University, the actress said, “Criticize my work and it’s okay, but why my morals?”. Actress had some powerful message for the young girls in the audiences who are soon to enter professional life.
Mehwish further added that despite the difficulties she faced in her career, she chose to stay firm on her choices and went against all odds to prove herself as an actor.

The event was also attended by some other notable women of Pakistan including Natalia Gul, Parveen Saeed, Hija Kamran, Zainab Ansari and Mehwish Hayat as Chief Guest.
Mehwish was awarded the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz on March 23 along with 171 other people. She has been highly criticized for receiving such prestigious award, but the actor took all the criticisms with much poise. “Just because we chose to become actors doesn’t mean we have forgotten our morals, earlier she said in an interview to a private news channel.
