Ramazan has fallen in the summer this time, so it is crucial to stay hydrated and drink more after iftar and during suhoor. As soon as Ramazan started people start planning for food but take drinks very casually, whereas, drinks are the most important part of Iftar and Sehri.
Here are few healthy drinks that are easy to make and keep you hydrated in summer Ramazan.
Date Shake
Ingredients:
¼ cup dates – deseeded and chopped.
2 tablespoons sugar
720ml milk
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 cup crushed ice
Method:
Blend the dates and half cup of milk together in blender, add the rest of the ingredients and blend at high speed. Pour into serving glass and add vanilla ice cream on top.
Energy Milk Drink
Ingredients:
Milk 250 ml
Sugar to taste
Almonds 8-10
Pistachio 1/2 cup
Green cardamom 3-4
Tukh malanga (basil seeds) 2-3 tbsp
Method:
Soak tukh malanga in water for 5-10 minutes. Soak almonds in water, boil it then let it cool & peel it. Blend milk, sugar, cardamom and pistachio in a blender. Add Tukh malanga and ice cubes blend again.
Pour drink into a glass. Before serve sprinkle flaked pistachio over it.
Watermelon Juice
Ingredients:
Water melon 1 kg
Milk ½ kg
Red syrup 1 cup
Cream ½ cup
Ice as required
Almonds, Pistachios 4 tbsp (chopped)
Mint leaves for garnish
Method:
Put water melon, milk, red syrup, cream and ice in blender and blend it nicely. Now put almonds and pistachios, garnish with mint leaves and serve.
Cucumber and Lime Soda
Ingredients:
Cucumber 1 (cubed)
Lemon juice 2 tbsp
Black salt ½ tsp
Soda water/7up
Ice 1 cup
Mint leaves ½ cup
Method:
In a blender put cucumber, lemon juice, black salt, soda water and 1 cup ice and blend it. Pour into glasses and serve with mint leaves.
Pina Colada
Ingredients:
Ice 1 cup
Pineapple juice 1 ¼ cup
Milk ½ cup
Cream ½ cup
Sugar 2 tbsp
Coconut milk powder 2 tbsp
Method:
In an electric blender, blend ice, pineapple juice, milk, cream, sugar and coconut milk powder. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve chilled.
