KARACHI: Engineer Daroo Khan Achakzai, President FPCCI has left for Kyrgyz Republic to attend the meeting of the Business Council of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on May 17 to be held in Bishkek.
All member countries of SCO including China, Russia, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Kazakhstan will attend the Business Forum and the Business Council meetings.
The theme of the business forum is “SCO, Expanding Cooperation Borders” and the theme of the business council meeting is “Prospects of developing of design cooperation within the activities of business councils of SCO” which will be inaugurated by the President of Kyrgyz Republic Jheenbekov Sooronbay Jheenbekovich and First Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyz Republic Boronov Kubatbek Ayilchievich.
The host country will also make presentations on Investment opportunities in Kyrgyz Republic. There will be plenary discussion sessions on “Trade and Investment Cooperation, Legislative Aspects and Initiatives” and ‘Investments and Export Today” while President FPCCI will speak in 1st plenary session highlighting economic prospects of Pakistan particularly in the backdrop of CPEC.
The President FPCCI will also emphasise on the need of promotion of economic cooperation among the member states of SCO besides inviting them for their participation in the projects of CPEC particularly in Special Economic Zones.
He will also make suggestions for holding of the next business council meeting of SCO as well as SCO exhibition in Pakistan which is a hub for Central Asian Republic, Gulf States, South Asia and China.
The FPCCI president also intends to invite the SCO for holding an Investment Conference on the sidelines of the above mentioned events. He will also apprise the participants about the upcoming Board of Directors Meeting of Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) scheduled in November 2019 in Karachi which would be an ideal opportunity for SCO members to avail and explore benefits.
