LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed discussed matters of mutual interest, public welfare projects and political situation here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that past governments had promoted culture of nepotism instead of merit and their wrong policies damaged national resources due to which today people were facing a lot of issues.
Past rulers ruthlessly looted national resources in the name of development projects and neglected basic necessities of public, he added.
Buzdar said that menace of corruption had hollowed vitals of the country, that was why, the present government waged war against corruption, and there was no room for corruption in new Pakistan and the corrupt people's future was dark.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan's slogan of 'corruption-free Pakistan' had now become the voice of every Pakistani. The current government had promoted austerity at every level.
"The PTI government believes in the supremacy of law and we are performing our duties according to merit and justice. The resources will not be confined to specific
areas as done in the past and we will provide equal development opportunity to every area," he maintained.
He said that selfless public service was the PTI's prime objective that would be achieved at any cost. The PTI government had a credit of reforms in different sectors within a short period of time.
