ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Syed Shabbar Zaidi Monday underlined the need for building confidence of business fraternity for jacking up the economic sector of the country.

Talking to private news channel program, he said that the FBR has set the target for broadening tax network. He added that concerned departments would focus on tax generation and collection of the revenue.

Syed Shabbar Zaidi  admitted that the tax recovery in the country was not up to the mark. He, however said that there was a dire need to improve the tax recovery sector.

The Chairman further stated that the law of tax was written in the English version which he added need to be reviewed for the better understanding of the common man. He said that FBR was taking measures to provide easiness to the citizens regarding understanding of tax laws.

To a question he said that a long term strategy was being evolved for broadening of tax network, so that the desired revenue collection could be made in an appropriate manner.

He urged the nation to cooperate with the concerned department for paying the taxes so that economy of the country could be strengthened in a befitting manner.
