Huawei is already going through a hard time and now, according to reports, the company is also banned by Facebook as the phones will not come with Facebook and its apps pre-installed.
According to new report, Facebook has recently been added in the list of companies to cut off ties with Chinese giant Huawei and won’t allow the smartphone manufacturer to pre-install Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp on its future phones anymore.
Huawei usually pre-installs such social media apps including Twitter on its phones for users, but won’t be allowed to do so anymore. However, the phone owners will still be able to download and use the apps manually, along with continuing to receive updates through the Play Store, as per The Verge.
Huawei suffers another blow as it gets banned from using microSD cards
Those customers who already have Huawei phones will still be able to use Facebook and its apps and also will receive updates. The ban applies to all the future Huawei phones, as per Mashable.
Although Google has secured a temporary license to continue sending security updates to existing Huawei phones or to those ones that have not yet shipped or even been built, Facebook ban, however, differs a bit. Facebook has denied to pre-install its app on ‘any phone which has not yet left the factory’, the report stated.
Meanwhile, apart from Google, Intel and Qualcomm, SD Association too lately cut off its ties with Huawei, which means that the smartphone maker has been banned from using microSD cards too.
