ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for State and Frontier Regions Shehryar Khan Afridi Monday said politics of compromises had become matter of the past and the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would not adopt this approach.
Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, he said nobody was above the Constitution and law and it was compulsory for everyone to respect the law.
To a question about the arrest order of President Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian Asif Ali Zardari, the minister said the opposition had the right to make strategy in this regard while it was duty of the government to maintain writ of the state.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan had set an example by presenting himself before National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Peshawar in helicopter case and gave money trail of each penny.
The minister said the prime minister had already said nobody was above the law and the opposition should give its money trail in the court of law.
To another question, he said the previous governments had taken so many loans and looted the country because of which the government had to take difficult decisions.
Shehryar Afridi said the government was well-aware about the price hike and everybody should work together to get rid of the financial crisis, adding that the government would present people-friendly budget.
