An official of National Disaster Management Authority told APP here on Monday that so far Rs. 28.19 billion have been disbursed among the flood victims.
Talking about the reconstruction and rehabilitation work, he said that there is a dire need to speed up pace of current work as only two and half months left in the next monsoon season.
"In May Kabul and Tarbala rivers outflows increased due to the melting of snow at the mountain peaks so we have to complete all the arrangements before that", he said.
NDMA official added, "There is no possibility of reconstruction and rehabilitation work in monsoon season and it is necessary to return to the situation of before 2010 monsoon season".
Responding a query regarding prediction of next monsoon, he said that it is pre-mature to say anything right now as the prediction about weather condition is possible before 30-40 days.
Whereas, he pointed out that latest studies mentioned that there are chances of severe impact of global changes on region of South Asian during next few years and especially on Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He said that as soon as the restoration of flood damages complete, more is the possibility of drawing a future strategy to mitigating challenges of any calamity.
