District administrations to prepare master plans highlighting missing facilities, allocation of resources: CM

PESHAWAR: The Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has directed the District Administrations in the province to finalize master plans highlighting missing facilities and issues which will be used as a yardstick for allocation of resources in the future.

These views were stated by the CM while chairing a progress review meeting of the District Administrations in implementing government directives.

The Chief Minister stated that the present government is working for strengthening of the District Administrations adding that pragmatic steps should be undertaken for initiating Khuli Kacheris at Tehsil level so that public grievances may be addressed at grass root level.

The Chief Minister added that the performance evaluation of all Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners will be held periodically and those officers found negligent in their duties will be proceeded against as per law.

While appreciating the performance of Deputy Commissioner Khyber in implementing government directives, the Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioners of the newly merged districts to increase public engagements and undertake efforts for solution of public grievances at their door steps.

The meeting was briefed in detail regarding the performance of the District Administrations during the past four months. The Chief Minister was informed that 276 polythene bags factories and wholesalers have been shut down so far whereas more than 70,000 Kg of polythene bags have been confiscated and Rs 1.25 Million fine has been imposed.

The Chief Minister stated that after the successful completion of the crackdown against polythene bags in the province, a similar campaign will also be launched against plastic bottles which are major contributors to environmental pollution.

The Chief Minister was informed that during the past four months, 941.35 Kanals of land, worth Rs 1.4 Billion, has been retrieved from illegal occupants in which 192 Kanals of land has been recovered in District Khyber alone, followed by 136.5 Kanal in DI Khan and 98 Kanals in District Hangu.

Similarly, the meeting was informed that 109 Khuli Kacheries have been held from March-May throughout the province in which 1205 issues were addressed on spot whereas 1490 issues have been referred to Citizens Portal.

The Chief Minister on this occasion directed the District Administrations to hold at least one Khuli Kacheri per month failing which strict action will be initiated against the officers concerned as per law.

The Chief Minister was also briefed in detail on the complaints registered by citizens on the Pakistan Citizens Portal. The meeting was informed that out of 83,361 complaints received since October 2018, 84% have been resolved so far whereas work on resolving 12,915 complaints is still in progress.

Furthermore, during the past four months, 57,389 liters of adulterated milk has been discarded whereas Rs 2.5 Million fine has been imposed on people involved in selling of adulterated milk in addition to sealing of their businesses.

The Chief Minister was also briefed in detail regarding inspections of public schools, hospitals, patwar khanas and ADP Schemes which are being conducted in order to ensure efficient services delivery and transparency.
