A look back at Shah Rukh Khan’s journey as he completes 27 years in Bollywood

Twenty-seven years back from today, Shah Rukh Khan struggled to get that one break and make his way in Bollywood. He got his big break from ‘Deewana’ (1992) and now the ‘King Khan’ of the Bollywood film industry has made his place in the hearts of his fans.

The actor did have his highs and lows but the love he got from his fans kept him going and even today. On #27yearsofSRK, fans are taking to Twitter to pour in their love and wish to the King Khan.

On this special occasion SRK also treat fans and thank them in his own special way. He took to social media to post a video of himself where he can be seen recreating the famous 'Deewana' song on which he literally marked his way into Indian film industry.

The actor has featured in more than 80 Bollywood films and won many awards. He was honoured with Padma Shri by the Government of India for his contribution to the Indian cinema. The Government of France awarded him both the prestigious ‘Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ and the ‘Légion d'honneur’.

According to a media report, SRK’s net worth is around $600 million in 2019.

While the actor started his career as a negative lead character in films like ‘Darr’, ‘Anjaam’ and ‘Baazigar’, he went on to become the ultimate king of romance. He has uncountable romantic hits in his credit including ‘Dil to Pagal Hai’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Ly Jayen Gy’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Pardes’, ‘Yes Boss’, ‘Veer Zaara’ and many more.

Apart from his impressive filmography, Khan turned co-chairman of the motion picture production company Red Chillies Entertainment in the year 2015. Years on, Khan also turned the co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders and the Caribbean Premier League team Trinbago Knight Riders.

SRK has also been honoured with the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University Chancellor HRH The Princess Royal in Edinburgh and another honorary doctorate from The University of Bedfordshire. More recently, he was also conferred with an honorary doctorate in Philanthropy by The University of Law, London.

The actor is one of the few Bollywood celebrities who have worldwide fans. The actor had a very humble beginning, but with sheer determination and dedication, he is now one of the highest paid actors of Bollywood.
