Pakistani veteran actress Sadia Imam has claimed that she has written a few iconic Bollywood songs sung by singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, but she has never been credited for her work.
In an interview to a local TV channel, Sadia claimed that the famous Indian song ‘Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaye’ from the film ‘Kalyug’, which has been sung by Rahat was originally written by her. Moreover, she also claimed that song titled ‘Zindagi Ke Safar Mein’ from Indian movie ‘Life in Metro’ was also written by her.
“My name isn’t in the credits because Rahat is a really good friend of mine. When I wrote the song I didn’t realize that it will turn out to be this good after the composition and music,” she said.
She also said that she never tries to claim the ownership of the songs as she gave those lyrics to Rahat, so it was his choice to use it the way he wanted to.
The song ‘Jiya Dhadak Dhadak Jaye’ was released under Indian music label Saregama India Ltd for ‘Kalyug’ in 2005 and was a hit at that time. It was also Rahat’s first few songs in Bollywood film industry.
