Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari withdrew on Wednesday his petitions from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for bail in three cases.
The hearing was conducted by a two-member bench comprising Judge Aamir Farooq and Judge Mohsin Akhtar Kayani. During the case proceedings, the former president requested the high court to allow him to withdraw his petitions in the Park Lane company and luxury vehicles cases, local media reported. Following the PPP leader's request, the IHC dismissed the bail petitions.
The former president was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau on June 10 following the cancellation of his pre-arrest bail by the IHC in the fake bank accounts case. A 15-member NAB team arrived at Zardari House in Islamabad to arrest him.
