Veteran Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon has taken a dig at Zaira Wasim after she announced to leave the Bollywood industry as it 'interferes' with her faith and religion.

Calling her thoughts ‘regressive’, Raveena wrote on Twitter, “Doesn't matter if two film olds are ungrateful to the industry that have given them all. Just wish they'd exit gracefully and keep their regressive views to themselves”.

Replying to some Twitter posts, Raveena also wrote, “Exit is your choice, reason, by all means. Just do not demean it for everyone else”. She also described the film industry as “one where all work shoulder to shoulder, no difference in caste and religion”.

She also said that she respected Zaira’s decision but if she hadn't condemned all as the reason for doing so.

Zaira, who is a national award winning actor, announced yesterday about end to her acting career, saying that she was not happy with the line of work. In a detailed post on her social media pages, the ‘Dangal’ fame star said she realised though she may fit here perfectly, but “do not belong here”.

Many Indians have been condemning her 'extreme' choice of quitting Bollywood career over her religion.

Actor Payal Rohatgi, who was a contestant in 2008 Bigg Boss, took to twitter to share her concerns. In her tweet, she wrote that she hopes Zaira - who quit Bollywood because it interferes with her religion - doesn’t become a Jihadi due to the similar reason. She also called Islam a regressive religion where there's gender inequality.
