Pakistan’s budding fast bowler Naseem Shah is among the top prospects for the future. The speedster, who at the moment is honing his craft at the U19 cricket, aims to represent the Men in Green in all three formats of the game. “I used to play tape ball cricket on the streets, but when I did my Under-16 trials from Lahore I emerged as their best bowler, and then I got selected in Pakistan’s U16,” said Shah, while talking about his early beginnings, quoted Pakistan Cricket Board. Shah was among the best bowlers for his side in Pakistan U19 tour of South Africa, and has made a name for himself thanks to his lethal pace and bounce. He says that New Zealand pacer Shane Bond is his ideal and the youngster is keen to represent Pakistan at the highest level. “Shane Bond is my ideal bowler. People say that I have a similar bowling action like him, which I take as a compliment. My objective is to play for Pakistan and serve my country in all three formats of the game,” he said. For now, the budding speedster has set his focus on surmounting the forthcoming challenges. “My main focus right now is on the upcoming Asia Cup this year and the next year’s ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup to perform well for my country.”
