ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan Wednesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was confident that Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani would retain his seat again due to his performance in running the house smoothly.
Bringing no-trust move against Sadiq Sanjrani would not halt accountability process against corrupts, looters and plunderers, he said talking to a private news channel.
The minister said both the Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz were using pressure tactics to stop accountability and they were considering the removal of Sadiq Sanjrani as a shield in that regard.
Ali Muhammad Khan said Sadiq Sanjrani was candidate of Asif Ali Zardari during Chairman Senate polls in the past and he was now opposing Sanjrani which was beyond perception. Removal of the Chairman Senate would be considered as a last card of the opposition parties to create hurdles in effective accountability process, he added.
He said both the PPP and PML-N were striving to remove Sanjrani to achieve personal interests and political mileage but nothing else.
He said Sadiq Sanjrani made huge legislation on different issues, but the main cause of bringing no-trust motion by PPP and PML-N to impede accountability process against their leaders.
