Rumour has it: ‘Avengers vs X-Men’ film in works

20 Aug, 2019

Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige announced at a Comic-Con panel last month that the X-Men mutants would become a part of the Marvel franchise, but he did not go into more detail at the time. Now as per the latest buzz, an ‘Avengers vs X-Men’ film is on the cards.

According to an entertainment site We Got This Covered, sources claim Avengers vs X-Men movie is on the cards meaning longtime fans of both sets of superheroes will likely have to pick a side. It probably won’t be happy families though as Magneto, Raven and co. might find themselves up against the Avengers.

Reportedly, Marvel still wants to work toward this particular turn of events, and it might not happen until Phase 6 at the earliest.

MCU Phase 4 will conclude in November 2021 with the fourth ‘Thor’ movie, the one in which Jane supposedly takes over for Thor. That gives Marvel plenty of time to figure out its Phase 5 and 6 plans, and prepare the best possible way to add ‘X-Men’, ‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘Deadpool’ to the MCU.

Earlier this summer, ‘Dark Phoenix’, the ‘X-Men’ film, was both a critical and commercial failure at the box office, while ‘Avengers: Endgame’ became highest grosser of all-time.
