But ample global wheat supplies and sluggish export demand hung over the market, capping rallies.

CBOT December soft red winter wheat settled up 1-1/2 cents at $4.68 a bushel, rebounding after sliding to $4.61-3/4, the contract's lowest since May 14.

K.C. December hard red winter wheat ended down 1-1/2 cents at $4.00-1/2 a bushel and MGEX December spring wheat  fell 1 cent at $5.15.

Deferred K.C. wheat futures and all MGEX spring wheat futures fell to life-of-contract lows.

Euronext wheat futures also fell to new contract lows.

Ahead of Thursday's weekly US Department of Agriculture export sales report, analysts expected the government to report US wheat export sales of 300,000 to 500,000 tonnes.
